A Surprise Guest for Our Final Fall Session: Rev. Angela Denker ELCA pastor, award-winning author, and journalist We’re delighted to welcome Rev. Angela Denker as a special surprise guest for the LiVE Project’s final session of our fall series, Faith and Civic Life: Seeking the Well-Being of All. Angela joins us to explore the intersection of faith and public life, inviting us to consider how our Christian commitments shape the ways we engage our communities, respond to power, and care for our neighbors. An ELCA Lutheran pastor, veteran journalist, and award-winning author, Angela brings a thoughtful perspective to questions of religion, politics, and American culture. She is the author of Red State Christians and Disciples of White Jesus: The Radicalization of American Boyhood (2025). Her work examines the theological and cultural roots of Christian nationalism and its impact on our churches, families, and shared life. Angela has written for The Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, and FORTUNE, and has shared her research on CNN, BBC, and NPR. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Ben, and their two sons.
