Offering Overview

Two scholars, two traditions, Kierkegaard and Howard Thurman, in genuine dialogue with each other and with you, about staying whole and faithful under the oppressive weight of empire.

Kierkegaard's fierce insistence to resist following the crowds that deny our particular individuality and Thurman's deep well of contemplative, prophetic presence, and reclaiming of subjugated identities. Together they both point to a life in Christ where we can balance interiority and public faithfulness all in the same body. This is Lent we will deepen an understanding for what it means to give up something by setting aside the powers clamoring for our attention, and to welcome a renewing life only God in Christ gives.
